About
My name is Alexander Zuercher, and I am offering tuning services for Pianos and Harpsichords in the greater Charlottesville area, including Nelson, Albemarle, and Louisa Counties.
I studied music and tuning theory at the College of William and Mary and have since been learning through the Richmond chapter of the Piano Technician's Guild.
Tuning a piano involves aligning every pitch available on the keyboard into a harmonious relationship with every other starting from an initial reference pitch. The current tuning standard is A 440.
I tune both by ear and with a tuning device so that I can provide the highest standard tuning.

Services
Fine Tuning
$170
Every piano gradually goes out of tune with use and with seasonal changes in temperature and humidity. A fine tuning takes 1 1/2 to 2 hours.
Pitch Raise Tuning
$235
If your piano has gone without a tuning for a long period of time, it may need a pitch raise tuning to stabilize it to concert pitch and to receive a fine tuning.
Repair

I do select repairs and maintenance depending on need. Please contact me directly for an appraisal and estimate.
